What Is a Herd Share?
A herd share is a way for individuals and families to participate in the ownership and care of a dairy herd.
Rather than purchasing milk in a retail transaction, herd share members own a portion of the herd and contribute to the costs of feeding, housing, maintaining, and caring for the animals. In return, members receive a portion of the milk produced by the herd based on their ownership share.
How Does It Work?
- Purchase a share in the herd.
- Pay a monthly herd maintenance fee that helps cover feed, veterinary care, facilities, equipment, and daily animal care.
- Receive a portion of the milk produced by the herd according to your share ownership.

Pickup Information
Milk pickup is available in Somis, California.
Members are responsible for picking up their allocated portion during scheduled pickup times. Additional details are provided during enrollment.
