Understanding Herd Shares

How Does It Work?

  • Purchase a share in the herd.
  • Pay a monthly herd maintenance fee that helps cover feed, veterinary care, facilities, equipment, and daily animal care.
  • Receive a portion of the milk produced by the herd according to your share ownership.

Why Do Families Choose Herd Shares?

Many families choose herd shares because they value:

  • Knowing where their food comes from
  • Supporting local agriculture
  • Direct relationships with farmers
  • Small scale family farming
  • Transparency in animal care and farm practices
